British shipping sources report Russian submarines shadowed a fleet of British trawlers and escort vessels as they sailed to defy Iceland’s 12 mile fishing zone. The subs allegedly followed to three rendezvous points outside the boundary. an admiralty spokesman suggested a training mission if submarines are in the area.
Sunday was a bad day for Donald R. Dressler age 20 of 380 Belmont Ave. He was in a collision with Dale Roger Hungate 24 of 116 Ist St Seal Beach on 7th St and Pacific Coast Hwy. Passenger Patricia C Williams 21 of 4105 E 14th St suffered minor injuries. Earlier Dressler rode with Thomas Craig Biss 16 of 3040 Colorado Ave when his car collided with Leslie Edward Raymond 42 of 1813 Studebaker Rd on 7th St near Santiago Ants. Dressler suffered head injury and lip cut requiring 20 stitches. Biss had severe arm cut and James R Queen 16 of 3027 E 4th St suffered head injury and possible back fracture. Officer Clifford M LaMont detained Dressler after the second crash remarking This is the day you should have stayed in bed.
