Chrysler Directors Plan Split 2-for-1 stock action approved
Chrysler Corp proposed a second 2-for-1 stock split. Directors set Dec 17 for a shareholder vote, effective Dec 20. Nine month 1963 results showed sales of 2.2 billion dollars and profits of 100 million, with three months at 661 million in sales and 22.8 million in profits. Townsend cited strong 1964 lineup and rising dealer acceptance amid higher overall auto and defense sales.

Beesting on Tongue Fatal in Sunnyvale
Manuel C. Teixeira, 55, died after a bee sting to the tongue while at Sunnyvale. He was taking a break from construction work when a bee, drawn to an open bottle neck, stung him on the tongue tip. Witnesses said he held a soft drink bottle to his lips. Three minutes later, authorities reported the death.

Autopsy Pending After Teixeira Collapse
Teixeira lost consciousness and died en route to El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. The coroner's office reported the death and an autopsy is pending to determine the cause.
