Free license plates to count as state support for business
A Sacramento based probe by Project Loophole reports banks and firms received free public service license plates worth thousands this year. Bank of America led with 834 free plates. GMAC and Wells Fargo also appear. Hertz Car Leasing and other divisions gained plates for state use, while a legislative attempt to repeal the loophole failed.
