Nixon unaware of Hughes donations to friend

Washington authorities said President Nixon did not know of any donations received by his close friend Charles G. Bebe Rebozo from Howard Hughes. Deputy press secretary Geral L. Warren refrained from comment, then said Nixon was unaware of such gifts after conferring with the President. Sources say Rebozo, a neighbor at Key Biscayne, Fla., may have held about $100,000 in a locked box for years before returning it.
