Marion prison breakout uses home made electronic gadget
Five inmates slipped past two gates at Marion Federal Penitentiary using a hand held electronic transmitter built in a prison shop class. Warden Charles Fenton said the device opened the gates and allowed the escape along with four other convicts. Police and federal agents launched a wide search with no immediate arrests.
