Navy housing plan to ease Navy families' substandard living
Rear Adm. Horce V. Bird proposes a mobile home complex at Los Alamitos to house about 1,000 Navy families. The plan uses leased land, aims for three bedroom two bath homes, and would require no taxpayer cost while expanding to 4,164 units to alleviate long waiting lists and substandard housing. Los Alamitos’ facilities and proximity make it ideal for rapid deployment and future expansion to meet Navy needs.
