Democrats push bill to create separate Health Department
Congressional health committees and leading presidential hopefuls endorsed a plan to set up a Cabinet level Health Department to broaden health care programs. The proposal would move Medicare Medicaid and related HEW health programs to a dedicated body with a commission to set ten year goals and priorities for nationwide affordable care.
