Gabriel Heatter, 81, veteran radio commentator, died of pneumonia at the Miami Heart Institute after a lengthy illness marked by strokes. Heatter, famed for opening with Ah hush there is good news tonight, retired from NBC News and lived in Miami Beach. Burial will be private.

Second Gunship Down In Laos Electronics War
Friday the U S Command announced the second loss in two days of a four engine ACL30 Sunship in the Laos electronic war. Thirteen crewmen parachuted from the downed craft and were rescued, all in good condition. Earlier in the week an HHS3 rescue helicopter was shot down in southern Laos during training, five crewmen killed.
