All Radio and TV to Go Off Air in April 17 Drill
The Federal Communications Commission announced that all normal radio and TV broadcasting will go off air for 30 minutes Friday April 17 as part of a Civil Defense air raid drill. About 1,200 Conelrad stations on 640 or 1240 kilocycles will shut down, while 3,870 other AM FM and TV stations will remain silent. The Conelrad program stands for control of electromagnetic radiation.

Senator Goldwater opposes NLRB general counsel pick

Barry Goldwater will oppose the confirmation of Stuart Rothman, the Labor Department solicitor, for the 20 000 a year post as general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board.
