Specialized Cows Forecast Some for Ice Cream Only

A biochemist said the cow rumen can be tailored to produce specific milk types. Some cows could be fed to maximize ice cream milk while others concentrate on cheese, bacteria and protozoal growth. Dr R D McCarthy of Pennsylvania State University outlined how proper feeding might yield varied milk compositions for dairy products. John Considine dies at 64 in Beverly Hills home

Motion Picture Producer John William Considine 64 known for Boys Town and Young Tom Edison died at his Beverly Hills residence. Born in Spokane he studied at Stanford Yale and abroad at Oxford and Heidelberg. He married Carmen Pantages in 1932. they divorced in 1952. Survivors include three children. Former VP Richard Nixon obtained a California driver's license in Whittier passing both the written exam and driving test in a new car from dealer Clinton Harris. Nixon works with a Los Angeles law firm. Convair named Edward J. Huntsman activation manager at Air Force Atlas missile bases succeeding George H. Buchner in San Diego. Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower to be joined at his Palm Springs area vacation home by James Mitchell a candidate for New Jersey governor. Eisenhower’s son John Eisenhower golfed with his father as comedian George Gobel joined practice. Brendan Behan was jailed in Toronto after a disorderly incident over a bottle. Police questioned Behan’s upcoming Chicago visit. W. Ward Yeager appointed Crater Lake National Park superintendent. William C. Wainwright elected president of the American Savings and Loan Institute. President Kennedy named Maj. Gen. Alan Shapley Marine Corps fleet commander in the Pacific. promotion to lieutenant general pending Senate confirmation. Wornham to retire April 1.

Liz Renay Fined for Disturbing the Peace in Los Angeles

Liz Renay, former girlfriend of Mickey Cohen, was fined 75 dollars by Municipal Judge Howard H. Schmidt after pleading guilty to disturbing the peace. The 33 year old entered the plea following an amended complaint from the city attorney, after being found in a Hollywood motel room with a San Fernando Valley builder on January 28.
