Handball Club Plan Faces City Hearing Delay
City Planning Commission gave 30 days to try to overcome a 75 percent neighbor protest against retaining the handball courts at 6075 California Ave. A private nonprofit handball club, proposed by Justice Investment Co, would include up to 80 members and own a locker room on the former YMCA site. Public sentiment splits, with some neighbors opposing due to private use and parking, while others file letters of support.
