Capitol plan seeks 96 million rebuild and new office building
Architectural firm Welton Becket and Associates proposed a 96.5 million plan to construct a seven story legislative office building east of Capitol Park and restore the hazardous west wing of the Capitol. The plan, funded by a 500 thousand dollar contract, would avoid private showers in lawmakers offices and shrink space needs to about 586 thousand square feet. The west wing would be repaired to be safe for government use, with Senate and Assembly chambers potentially for ceremonial sessions.
