Dairy bill could raise milk costs in 1976
Agriculture Department experts estimate that rising dairy supports to 85 percent of parity and quarterly cost adjustments would lift manufacturing milk supports from $7.24 per hundredweight to $8.19 by January 1976. They say the higher base would push costs up about 4 cents per half gallon, 10 cents per pound of cheese and 20 cents per pound of butter.
