School Girl Becomes Miss Universe First Queen of Beauty
An 18-year-old Finnish high school student, Armii Kyusela, won the Miss Universe title at an early morning pageant in an event watched by about 4000 spectators. Finalists included Miss Hewell of Etsa Kenanionapua Edsman and Miss Greece in top positions. Miss United States Jackie Loughery placed in the top 10. Kyusela will receive a seven-year contract, a $2000 foreign visa, a $2500 watch, and a five-foot trophy. other contestants also earned trophies.
