Wedemeyer urges full U N effort or withdrawal from Korea
Lt General Wedemeyer told a night session of the MacArthur committee that the United States must go all out for a decisive victory in Korea or consider withdrawing even if that wrecks the United Nations coalition. He warned against delay and said unilateral action could be warranted if U N support falters, calling for air bases to strike Soviet industry if war erupts. He cautioned against a massive land war with Red armies and noted the danger of a protracted conflict.
