Harbor to Transfer Funds for New Fireboats
City Manager Sam Vickers and Finance Director Sam Roberts urged the Harbor Board to redirect about 56 thousand dollars yearly to man the port’s fireboats. They seek 50 thousand before July 1 with the rest later, arguing the transfer fits surplus rules and would support the Fire Department’s salaries. Fort Meer official E J Amar estimated port operations profit around 250 thousand this year after depreciation.
