Relief of Detroit ordnance center chief over gifts

Elmer L. Sholts a 56 year old Bellflower man died at 4 45 pm yesterday at his home from a .300 caliber rifle shot fired accidentally by his wife Thell Betty Sholts 31 who said the gun discharged as she picked it up after it fell to the floor The sheriff s homicide detail reported the shooting occurred while Sholts lay face down on a bed and was ruled an accident by Sgt ft Hopkinson Dr M M Sterk pronounced him dead at the scene.
