Long Beach Marine Sgt Coftee Confirmed Safe From POW List
Marine Sgt Robert J Coftee of 2045 Bermuda St was listed as a prisoner of war but was declared alive yesterday. His wife Jeanne and their 14 month old daughter Robin Anne were away when the news arrived, and his mother in law cried with relief at the Bermuda Street home. The family had previously heard of possible POW status from a released prisoner who escaped to Allied lines.
