Four Allied Planes Lost Over Korea This Week

Blizzard Devastates East Coast Killing At Least 100

A wind driven storm exploded into the season’s worst blizzard from Boston to New York and New England on Friday. Up to 20 inches fell on Vermont and New Hampshire highlands while communications failed and roads closed. A major fire in Rockland Maine caused substantial damage and was brought under control with help from volunteers and civil defense. Fifteen inches reported at Montpelier Vermont and Mt. Parched northeast winds pushed Long Beach temperatures to a record 82 degrees on Friday and forecasters said it would rise further. Nab Attorney in Estate Shortage

A 44 year old Lakewood attorney once a Signal Hill Township candidate for high judicial office was arrested Friday on charges he mismanaged an estate he was executor for. He was jailed two hours before a $500 bond release ordered by Superior Court Judge Joseph Maltby. Boland to appear Monday to answer default charges. he previously received a suspended sentence after contempt for failing to supply an account of the Gustave A. Wanger estate.

Visit to shrine triggers executor abuse case

R O Dawson of 4202 Marwick Ave alleges attorney Boland neglected and mismanaged the Wanger estate and seeks termination of Boland’s executor powers. Judge Nourse suspended Boland’s executor duties June 1 1952 and ordered estate fees placed with a special administrator. Contempt cited for failure to account and produce vouchers. Boland had filed a partial accounting in April 1952 amid claims by the sole beneficiary of Wanger.

Debris Found From Two Planes in Nevada Storms

Wreckage of two airplanes with seven aboard sighted in northeast Nevada after storms. Authorities believe the Air Force C-54 missing since Monday on a Colorado Springs to Stead AFB run near Reno may be among the finds, located 18 miles southwest of Wells. A single-engine Cessna 170 piloted by Ivan T. Hart was found in Independence Valley, 65 miles northwest, with no signs of life.

Blaze Destroys 16 Businesses in Rockland Me

A wind driven fire swept Rockland Maine on Friday night destroying two hotels a theater a bowling alley and about a dozen other businesses. No serious injuries were reported though property damage ran into hundreds of thousands of dollars. Hundreds of residents were evacuated as firefighters from multiple towns fought the blaze.
