Senator McCarthy Attack Sparks Broad Defense
By Association Senator McCarthy is accused of attempting to convict men of Communism only because they happened to associate with Communists. It is said damning State Department officials just because they had Communist friends is unjust. We find this defense among those in Hollywood who say they are not Communists, only liberals. Labor unions resent the charge of Communism even though they know of Communists among their members, Americans, being naturally fair, sympathize.
