Plea to save British lecturer disregarded

Amin said only British Foreign Secretary James Callaghan could save Hills before Monday and would consider the political aspects if Callaghan arrives. The plan involved expelling Ugandan exiles and halting propaganda, while Hills stood to be executed at the site of a 1898 massacre unless action occurred.
