Planned protective raids described by Air Force veteran
Michael A. Lewis, a former Seventh Air Force intelligence sergeant from Ann Arbor, said in a phone interview that in 1970 his unit planned bombing strikes into North Vietnam. He claimed orders came from the Pentagon and that the Air Force later publicly labeled the actions as protective reaction. Lewis is now a University of Michigan pre law student.
