Long Beach attorney George KR Johnson was chosen chairman of Memorial Hospital Medical Center’s board, succeeding Ben J. Little. Robbers Hit Market Dwp Office And Local Businesses
Armed robbers stole 1150 dollars from a QuikStop Market and a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power office in Wilmington. At the market a quartet wearing gloves forced Emily La Forest to hand over about 1000 from two registers and the safe. A second group pounced on a DWP cashier, Bonnie Rickel, taking cash from a drawer. Other thefts include a skeleton from Harbor College, a Snow White Dairy owner mugging, a Kinney Shoes robbery, and a wallet snatched in a parking lot. Burglars also ransacked a Lakewood home and stole electronics from a Hawaiian Gardens classroom.
