Jaworski vows to quit if Korea probe stalls
Former Special Watergate prosecutor Leon Jaworski told a Houston news conference he would resign if blocked from pursuing the Korean influence buying investigation. He insisted on subpoenas without House ethics committee approval and said the probe should stay independent. The House ethics committee hired him to lead the inquiry with a memorandum guaranteeing independence, designating Peter White as deputy, and setting Aug. 1 for full-time start.
