Tenorist groups hurled a grenade at a truck carrying U.S. soldiers in Saigon's dock area. The blast killed one Vietnamese civilian and wounded nine others. Terrorists fled. About an hour and a half later another grenade exploded on a Saigon street, wrecking a motorbike and causing injuries.
In Con Thien, South Vietnam, 85 dead and 170 wounded in a Viet Cong assault on Alpha and Bravo companies of the 9th Marine Regiment. The 3rd platoon of Bravo suffered 35 dead. survivors describe a coordinated, deadly defense and the enemy’s overwhelming barrage.
