Ford eyes gas tax cuts and new air fees
The Ford administration plans major changes to federal gasoline taxes for highways and airports. Aviation taxes would raise airport fees for private planes while cutting aviation gas tax by five cents. A one cent highway tax cut is proposed with states able to reimpose. Aviation shifts include a 1 point drop in airline ticket tax and higher enplanement tax on international flights. Overall airport funds targeted rise from 325 to 350 million.
