Baker Tells of Cash Handed to Kerr in 1960s Trial
Robby Baker testified that funds totaling about 106000 dollars were given to the late Sen. Rob Kerr for campaigns and related activities in 1961 62. The defense argued Kerr was a close friend who received envelopes of campaign money and arranged loans and favors, while Baker faced charges of income tax evasion and overstated earnings. Kerr died in 1963 after a heart attack.
