Unusual no trump bidding shapes a dramatic slam
A detailed bridge deal shows an opposing jump to two no trump signaling hearts and clubs, leading to a diamond slam after careful defenses and a clever spade lead by West. Edie Kantar demonstrates how misreading the two suited hand can alter the outcome in a doubled slam. The play hinges on the spade queen, heart discard, and ruffing sequence to secure 12 tricks. The article also notes an exhibition of antique objects at the Long Beach Antique Show with $3 million in pieces.
