Police report burglary at 15 West Fifth Street Long Beach where burglars forced a rear window and took appliances valued at about 1400 dollars from the residence of Carl Faure on Tuesday.
Washington AP reports Census Bureau mid-decade study shows young adults leave home to live alone rather than marry in early 20s. The report also notes rising divorce and separation, more female-headed families, and more children in single-parent households as marital disruption increases.
San Diego executive director of the Mental Health Association was arrested in a nationwide DEA operation on a two year conspiracy to distribute marijuana. The indictment, filed in Detroit, named arrests in eight cities including San Diego and Los Angeles with a related burglary case in Long Beach.
The data show that under 18s living with both parents dropped from 85 percent five years earlier. In the same period, families headed by women rose by 1.6 million to 7.2 million. Women with no husband present held 13 percent of all families in 1975 versus 11 percent in 1970.
