Wives Ask Why Guard Is Not Home
A group of wives of Air National Guardsmen called to active duty after the Pueblo seizure urged congressmen and the Defense Department to release their husbands. The United Waiting Wives, about eight wives of 113th District of Columbia Air National Guard members, seek earlier returns with tentative dates from May 18 to June 30. One wife says her husband has been away a year and fears more before they can be reunited. A second woman notes the duty followed a national emergency that may be over. In a separate report, Sandra Lee Ferguson, 23, reports her apartment was looted of a television, dresses, a camera and other items valued at 629 dollars.
