Restoring Ramer Lake Bass Fishery in Imperial Valley
The Department of Fish and Game plans a rotenone treatment at Ramer Lake five miles north of Brawley to remove invasive carp and toxins from agricultural runoff. After draining to the lowest level, biologists will detoxify, repair dikes, reseed with bass, catfish, fingerlings, and species such as bluegill or redear sunfish, with two weeks for detoxification before reintroduction.
