Army weighs lifting ban on new nerve gas production
Rep Les Aspin says a December Commerce tally suggests the Army seeks to overturn the ban on making new lethal nerve gases. He cites a notice asking firms about converting facilities to produce ton quantities of VX precursors dimethyl Polysulfide and ethyl2Diisopropylaminoethane. The Army aims to fill projectiles with binary agents and has stockpiled tens of millions of doses in Europe and Pacific locations. Aspin plans emergency hearings when Congress convenes.
