New disasters for film makers
A columnist critiques Hollywoods overuse of disasters and mocks creature attacks while proposing fresh cinematic fears such as a woman told she is pregnant by a doctor, a home sale panel holder finding a termite eaten pencil, and a septic tank under a pool. The piece mixes humor with satire on 1970s era disaster cinema and audience desensitization.
