Saxbe Warns Marijuana Legalization Faces Health and Law Issues
Attorney General William Saxbe said evidence shows marijuana is not harmless and legalization would create health and law enforcement problems. He would not push legalization now but would not oppose changes if Congress or the Legislature acted. He urged against decriminalization and warned of youths’ access if legalized, while backing tougher enforcement and rehabilitative options.
