Suspended students lose damage suit in Stanford case

Federal judge in San Francisco dismissed a $375,000 damage suit by three Stanford students suspended for disrupting an engineering class to protest William Shockley’s race and intelligence theories. The judge ruled the suspensions were not cruel and unusual punishment and entered judgment for Stanford's administration and faculty.
