Wellington Kansas reports a record wheat harvest totaling 15.56 million bushels with an average yield of 40 bushels per acre. Prices topped $5 a bushel at times, enabling farmers to pay bills, buy equipment, and reduce loans as credit tightens and demand for both new and used machinery rises.
