Proxmire Charges Defective Goodrich Brake Jeopardized Air Force
Sen. William Proxmire released GAO findings accusing B F Goodrich Co of deviating from test procedures to qualify a brake for the A7D light attack aircraft. He warned production could risk fires, wheel lockdowns, and gear failure during tests at Edward Air Force Base. A Goodrich spokesman defended the brake and test procedures as fully satisfactory.
