Fire destroys Davidson and Hedges hop ranch buildings

A fire at the Davidson and Hedges hop ranch near the city destroyed three hop houses and about 40,000 pounds of hops estimated at 25 000 dollars. Proprietor D L Hedges collapsed from exertion but survived with medical aid. Insurance covered about 6 000 dollars. losses were extensive and details remain incomplete.

Boy Lost in Woods After Saturday Hunting Trip

A youth named Joe Haton wandered from his home during a hunting trip in the Willarette Valley forest. He built a fire two miles from home and spent the night, prompting a large search by his family before he was found at dawn Sunday morning.

Southern Pacific Improves Rail Link With Gravel Bed

A Southern Pacific steam shovel works near the ferry landing to extract gravel for road bed ballast between the city and McMinnville and between here and Corvallis.
