Oregon history notes describe the Christian Messenger founded in Monmouth in 1870 by T. F. Campbell, editor and Christian College president. The paper, its printing team, and staff shaped early Oregon education, with a 2000-copy circulation across Oregon, Washington, and California before shifting names and locations after Campbell’s departure.
