Robbery of Salem Men Near McNary Station
Two Armenian men from Salem reported a carjacking and armed robbery on Independence Salem road near McNary station. They were forced to surrender about $40 after being confronted by four masked men. police questioned the victims but could not identify the assailants beyond two tall and two short suspects.

Kk. C. Seeley died at home after months of illness from influenza complications. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev. J. S. Green officiating. interment in Mountain View cemetery, Oregon City. Born October 6, 1846 in Rockland New York, he lived in Iowa Colorado Idaho Washington and Oregon City before moving to Independence. He married Ellen A. Ryan in 1872 and leaves three children, Men J. H. Harper Tacoma, J. E. Seeley Portland, and Mrs. G. Irvine Independence.

Car Smashed by Espee Train in City Crossing
Leo McKenzie and his uncle Jesse Davis escaped unharmed after a Ford sedan was crushed by a northbound Southern Pacific electric train at the northern city crossing. Fog limited visibility and the car rode the train’s front end, flipped, and ended bottom up in a ditch as witnesses watched in shock. The engine and rear wheel were salvaged, train damage minor, crossing northmost in city limits.
