Purebred Jersey Prices Lead Pacific International Sale

Utilities Do Leave Independence for Dallas Transfer

The Independence Auto Utilities company, active since February under A G Berry, will transfer to Dallas December first. Berry plans to move with his family and oversee the county seat operation, consolidating stock cars tracks and accessories to Dallas. Polk County Buys Large Road Tractor For Highway Work

A new large Caterpillar road tractor with 65 horsepower was purchased by Polk County to aid road making. The machine, shown on Main Street for a daytime demonstration, can pivot sharply and will supplement privately owned tractors previously used for quarrying and heavy tasks. County plans call for substantial winter and spring road work with this equipment.

Methodists Send Record Missionary Totals Abroad

The Methodist Episcopal church reports 275 new missionaries left the United States in the fiscal year ending November 1, 1920. The prior high was 1917 with 96 recruits. This year 80 went to South America, 69 to China, 50 to India and Burma, 30 to Malaysia, six to Mexico, five to Japan, two to Korea, and two to Europe, excluding relief workers in war zones.
