Independence School fourth grade earned the best final average in a five contest series across two or more rooms in Polk County. Superintendent Seymour awarded a large certificate listing all participants, which Miss Setley plans to hang in the grade room.
Death of 17 month old Harold Otto Brown
Harold Otto Brown, 17 months old, died Thursday at 5 55 am after a 74 day illness. Typhoid pneumonia was given as the cause. Funeral at 2 pm Friday at the Christian church. Born December 1911. The family asks for sympathy in their sorrow.
