Ed Masterson reports a 1000 gallon per hour water flow, supplying about 24000 pounds daily. H Hirschberg aims to develop a salt well near Dallas with an evaporating plant, while oil prospects remain under study. The salt water well reaches about 500 feet depth with 1000 feet total depth. The oil and salt ventures prompt hopes of a Dallas salt industry and fuel from nearby sawmills.
Joseph G. Cannon announces total appropriations for the past two years reach 1.554 billion dollars with net rises across the army, postal service, river improvements, public buildings and telegraph of the Isthmian canal.
