Interment Planned in Missouri for Mrs. Margaret L. Jones
Mrs. Margaret L. Jones died June 27 at 10 15 a m after paralysis since April. Funeral held Thursday at the Stones home with Rev C Curtin officiating. Body shipped to Lamar Missouri, with family from Dallas and Salem in attendance. She was born December 1 1800 in Ohio and lived in Iowa and Missouri. Surviving: sons W T Jones Lamar and Taylor Jones Independence. Her husband died 1883, three sons born to 1857 marriage. She was active in the Christian church.

Tractor accident injures Wattenbarger youth at Gates

Boys Take Property From Sam Irvine Charged Teens Discharged

Dallas educator Griffin dies in liquor linked wreck near Salem
Joseph A. Griffin 32, manual training instructor and athletic director at a Dallas high school, died after a car accident on the Salem Dallas highway. Liquor was listed as a contributing cause. John Friesen of Dallas was seriously injured and faces a one year driver’s license revocation. The coroner's jury cited intoxicating liquor as a factor and noted Friesen drove earlier in the evening with Verne Friar present. Griffin was driving at the time of the crash and died hours later at Salem hospital. Griffin had moved from Blaine Washington to Dallas last September and left behind a widow in Bellingham and a mother in Morton Washington.
