Wallace Death Notices Reach Long Island
Mrs M W Wallace learned on Friday of her husband Mr Wallace facing serious illness in Long Island New York. She and son Edwin left Salem on the earliest train to be by his bedside. Wallace had been in New York for years settling his father’s estate. Independence friends reported the death occurred Sunday by telegraph.

The wedding of Mike Clara Earhart and Claude Johnson took place at the bride’s parents’ home with Dr. Chas Dansmore performing the ceremony last Sunday evening. Margaret Hodge sang, Opal McDevitt played Mendelssohn, and decorations featured syringa, Oregon grape, roses, and ivy as about 35 guests attended. The bride wore white chiffon over silk and carried white carnations. the groom wore black. Refreshments included ice cream and cake and the couple will reside in Independence.
