Anniversary services mark Calvary Presbyterian’s 20th year
The Calvary Presbyterian Church of Independence Oregon celebrated its 20th anniversary with a morning dedication sermon by Dr Thomson the present pastor and a well attended service. An evening program titled A Study of Some of the Old and Familiar Hymns led by Mrs Babbitt followed. The congregation has grown to its largest size in history and has contributed over nine thousand dollars to church support and more than one thousand to benevolent boards.

J M Tedrow and wife Mrs Dennis and two sons left Polk county on the 16th for Belknap mineral springs to spend a month or two fishing and hunting. The journey took six days due to warm weather. They found twenty camps and 100 visitors at the springs with fine fishing and hunting and a pleasant summer outing atmosphere.
