Notorious outlaw Tracy ends life after shootout
Tracy, an infamous Oregon escapee known as a major criminal, killed himself at a wheat field near Fellows after a confrontation with a posse. The pursuit began when Tracy escaped from Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem in June and escalated with multiple killings and clashes across Washington and Oregon counties. The morning body was found as investigators followed the trail from the previous night’s battles.

The Dallas Falls City and Pacific Coast Railway Company was incorporated in Dallas last Friday. Founders include J. B. Talbott J. F. Talbott and Jno Howie along with others from Iowa Washington. Grade work has begun and promoters aim for quick completion. Town subsidy will go to the first railroad from here to Dallas, with support limited by the Gerlinger plan.

House Burns at A G Roberts Farm in Crowley
Special from Crowley reports last Saturday evening fire destroyed the home of A G Roberts. The kitchen roof ignited during supper and strong sea breeze spread flames beyond control. Neighbors aided, saving a barn and other structures. D A Hoag of Hoquiam, Washington, visited relatives near Monmouth and Suver.
