Independence residents react to a rumor accusing Evangeliat Taylor and the traveling party of impropriety. Taylor denounces the slander from the pulpit and offers $100 for the source. Basketball game in Independence adds to the night’s bustle with a 52 to 17 Albany victory.
Mrs Carrie Hubbard president of the Oregon Assembly of Rebekahs left Independence on Wednesday for Southern Oregon. She will visit Roweburg Cottage Grove Ashland and other points. Weather reports from her husband describe warm sunny conditions. Lodges in the region show strong interest and good turnout at meetings. She plans to return to Independence at month end.
The Enterprise reports a cooperative arrangement with the Oregon Journal for 1910 responding to subscriber demand in Independence.
