Plans for High School on South Sixth Street

Plans are being prepared for a two story concrete block high school on South Sixth Street with eight rooms. A bonded debt of at least twenty thousand dollars is favored by many to fund grounds heating and construction, while some push for larger sums and a petition cites fifteen hundred dollars for bonds.

Leisure Hour Club Hosts Ladies' Leisure Hour Guests

Members of the Ladies' Leisure Hour Club and a few guests enjoyed Friday afternoon at Mrs. G. A. Wilcox’s spacious home. The rooms were decorated with Oregon grape and plants, and conversations and a “Buried Jewels” contest added interest. Mrs. Allan won the first prize a collar pin and Mrs. Jones claimed the booby a diamond stick pin.

Plan to Reopen Monmouth Normal School Outlined

A mass meeting in Monmouth Tuesday explained the alumni plan to rehabilitate the normal school. The initiative has been approved by the Monmouth commercial club and citizens were given full details of the proposed reopening.

County road district appointments and fund allocations

The county court issued orders for road districts including appointing Ira Hooker as road supervisor for district 19 and realigning John Loy G A Wells for district 19. W N Jones named road supervisor for district 20, replacing G W Baum who resigned. Funds from general accounts allocated to districts with listed amounts including districts 2, 8, 9, 14, 17, and 19.
