Near Beer Declared Intoxicating by Sheriff’s Order
Sheriff Grant in Independence Monday issued a countywide order to resorts and drugstores to cease selling near beer. Death of Mrs Carter at Dallas home in 1909
Mrs A R Carter died at the family home in Dallas on December 26 1909 after a long illness. Born in Ohio in 1848 she was Mary J Jessup by birth and married first in Iowa to J D Lilly where three children—two sons and a daughter—were born. She later remarried in Adair County Iowa in August.
